You make a good case for the ol' Portal, and I couldn't agree more. I only to go the other page, when the purple over-runs the 'Classic' Portal. It's laid out perfectly, and has gobs of data! The search function isn't even on all the pages yet (lousy as it has been)...

If you knew the amount of times I saw you in front of the webcam and asked the people at the keyboard to turn around and get your attention so you could wave or do something you would be shocked, needless to say they were a pack of ignorant assholes.

I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could find my old stripes from my time in the Australian Army. Was a long time ago but I'm sure I put the whole uniform and other military related stuff in storage somewhere.
I got a lot out of that trip to NG HQ, but not as much as I would've liked. Gonna log off and finish writing about my trip there.. should be a sweet post, if a bit wordy.. and amateurish.

It's pretty good. I haven't beaten it yet. The damn car is so fast I only hit it once or twice if I'm lucky. So it will be a while before I get all those Medals. Sidenote: Almost into/if not just into the Top 50 Medal Points earners. I've been on the brink for weeks.
Scary thing is: I think that car's modeled on her first car, a Saturn something-or-other! I'm a lurking old man! She sent me a nice PM a little while ago, thanking her for the cookies and a the scant few bucks I could throw her, for her visit to the US.

The score to beat for the Top 50 spot was around 113,000 which I have now surpassed and jumped up to #48 on the list. I think. Maybe #47.

The newness of the internet, has finally worn off, and devolved into phone/mobile apps/social networked sites :P It's gone completely mainstream, corporate and commercial, which kills off 90% of the magic, as poor dead Walt Disney might've said..

Walt was a damn fine bloke, and he had a killer pencil mustache... Did they have 90 or 2 hr. weekend Disney specials (variety shows based on themes), back in the day, where Walt would either be on scene or in a easy chair beside a fire, to introduce the weekly special?
He stopped doing that sometime in the 1970's over here. After he passed away, animation got outsourced and over commercialized, then they used to capital to buy TV stations....
I do remember the old Walt Disney specials. Not that I watched a lot of them. I don't think Disney will lose it's appeal any time soon though. They still produce some great stuff.

Nope, Nothing. Cold and Rainy so we couldn't do squat unfortunately. Might be like that for a while too. We are going to record some more new stuff in my lounge room very soon. Maybe as soon as Friday.

Well the sound/acoustics in here are amazing because of the open plan layout of the house. We're gonna use the big Amp this time too not the little one we've used in the other clips. Should sound awesome. Wouldn't be surprised if we broke a window or two. Been here 6 months, met one of the neighbours a few times, (he's a renter), quite a nice guy but he's moving out in the next few weeks. He managed to get a nice job up in the mines, haven't met the back neighbours yet, they are very quite people, rarely even see them.

It constantly reminds me of an interview of a Philly resident had given to a newspaper reporter during the Revolution.. he said he wouldn't stand for his workers or family, to cast his eyes down, upon the approach of a wealthier man. Yet that's what we do here now! Even worse, we idolize the super-rich, thinking their way of life is worth living up to.

Starting to get quite cold now and rainy to boot. Hence our lack of visits to town for recording. Will do some at home soon though. Unfortunately there is no 'compassionate use' or any other kind of legal Marijuana use in Australia. It's decriminalized but it's still illegal.
Wish you were feeling better Holmes, but every so often, change brings pain...it sucks, but it's life. I'd wager, a slim majority of kids here haven't had that yet, and that sucks. Adversity makes us better in the long run, I'd hope, and not diminish us, but enhance who we are.
Feeling much better now, the new Meds really knocked me off my feet for about a week. I had to keep things simple, thank goodness for Jim, he's been so helpful. Anyway I seem to have control of it now though. But in saying that, I'm now in a state of permanent Stoned.

I read the post and was quite shocked. I had to restrain myself from posting in it for fear of some backlash.
Didn't nijsse have something like 410,000 points? He's down to 370K something... do that many medals get taken down? It's like my buddy, who's hung up on his forum post number, which seems to go down by large numbers, on occasion.... how does that happen? A thread get locked, then your comment doesn't add to the number listed?
Not sure if he had that many points. I'm sure if he lost that many points, others would have lost lots also and no doubt I would've heard about it. As for post count, they do drop from time to time but it's not from Locked threads, it's from Deleted threads, ie: Old or no longer worthy stuff that get removed occasionally.

It's easier doing them at night, just so I can go back and vote on what I just watched, after midnight. Only have time for movies, and whatever games pop up on my fav list. I made some quick connections to Emrox and a few other folks who think as we do... maybe we can bum rush Tom, get him to push some changes onto the staff/stats/architecture.

I'm sure they have an agenda of what to fix and when to fix it but the Portal doesn't seem to be high on the list of fixes unfortunately. It's disappointing since the Portal is the core and crux of this site and it's seems to be the least likely to be fixed. And the way I see it (like any good business person will tell you), if you maintain the integrity of the core of your site/business/whatever then your site/business/whatever will survive no matter how many diversions or distractions or side paths you may take, the core is always there to keep things moving forward in a positive way. Put simply, "if you don't water the tree itself, the branches and the leaves won't grow".
